Thursday
Evening Paddles
Every Thursday (weather permitting), Mariner Sails offers
two demonstration opportunities at White Rock Lake. We
conduct our “Splash Time” from 4:30 until 6:00 and our
famous “Hydro-Therapy Evening Tour” from 6:30 until 9:00.
(As a courtesy to the group, you must commit in advance
to stay out during the entire 2 - 2.5 hour paddling session.)
Both demonstration
sessions provide the perfect opportunity for you to: confirm
that you will enjoy the sport, try out that kayak you
have been admiring, and that you are comfortable with
your decision. Due to safety and transport limitations, only
a limited number of kayaks are available for each session.
And while we do take reservations, we work on a “first come-first
served” basis. It is best to make your
reservation the week prior or very early in the week
that you want to paddle. Although it is not an absolute
necessity, it is encouraged that you make a personal visit
to our store so that we can get to know you and match up the
perfect kayak to maximize your first paddling experience. To
make a reservation, contact Mike at 972-241-1498 or email
him at
mike@mariner-sails.com.
Second Saturday Clean-ups
Every second Saturday of the month we participate in the lake
clean-up program at White Rock Lake,
organized by For the Love of the Lake. We
meet at their office in Casa Linda Plaza off Buckner
Blvd. at 8 am for registration and breakfast snacks. At 9 am
we move to E. Lawther Dr. beneath the Mockingbird Bridge to
launch the boats and clean up trash on the island and/or up
White Rock Creek (see map below). This is an excellent
opportunity to come try out boats from our many lines of
quality kayak manufacturers.
Reservations for kayaks are accepted.

If you've ever watched the happy paddlers out on the water
and had a personal craving to give it a try, then let our friendly and experienced
staff answer your questions and guide you to the kayak
that's right for you.
