| FF4 |
The Cruising Design (CDI) FF4 furler provides one of the most cost-effective ways to increase ease of sail handling and safety. From your cockpit you can unfurl, furl or reef your headsail with ease. The patented one-piece UV stabilized anti-torsion, PVC extrusion provides incredible strength for furling and reefing. The flexibility and durability make raising and lowering the mast easy without the risk of damaging the furler. There are no joints to bend or break as with aluminum extrusions, which can easily be damaged when raising or lowering the mast. The CDI furler also features its own internal halyard, which eliminates halyard wraps and those troublesome halyard swivels. The tack fitting is a simple lashing that won't fall overboard (unlike a pin or shackle). A durable one-piece furling drum keeps the furling line in place. And, the price is right! The Flexible Furler is not designed for frequent headsail changes. It is designed simply to work with minimal, if any, maintenance, making it easier to get out and go sailing. You can install the furler yourself with the easy-to-follow instructions that come with the furler. The Flexible Furler is a very durable system for any boat and excels for boat owners who frequently step their mast — forestay comes down with extrusion in place! |

| FF7 | The CDI Flexible Furler FF7 is the first in the series to focus on large sailboats. It is designed with ball bearings as a standard option because of the higher strain on the mechanism with larger sails. Designed for large sail boats with an optimal range between 29-34ft Length Over All (LOA) and a maximum forestay length of 47′ (14.3M). This furler is perfect for any large sailboat, coastal cruisers, cruising yachts, and offshore cruisers. | 47' | 1/4" | 1/2" | #6 | C & C 29, C & C 30, Cape Dory 28, Cape Dory 30 Cutter, Catalina 30, Catalina 30 Tall Rig, Hunter 30, Irwin 30, Irwin 32, Irwin 32.5 Ketch, Irwin 34, Morgan 32, and Sabre 30. |

It is designed with ball bearings as a standard option because of the higher strain on the mechanism with larger sails. Designed for large sail boats with an optimal range above 30ft Length Over All (LOA) and a maximum forestay length of 53′ (16.2M). Why the Flexible Furler?
Safety
A built in halyard eliminates the possibility of halyard wrap by removing inconvenient halyard swivels to maximize reliability no matter if you’re out for the day or making a passage.
Simplicity and Reliability
With just 1/8th the number of parts compared to our competitors maintenance, installation and day to day operation are a breeze! We use a dependable one piece urethane furling drum with a stainless steel drum cover to keep the furling line in place.
Backed by a best in business warranty you can be confident that we have your back!
Our Bearing Assembly
We use larger ½” Torlon balls, requiring maintenance less often, and much less labor intensive, because the larger bearings can accommodate the small amounts of dirt that end up in the assembly. Regular maintenance is as easy as rinsing with a hose at the end of the season.
Every few years, or as needed, you can disassemble and clean thoroughly. Check out our FAQ to see a full disassembly and cleaning!
Ball bearings are optional on FF1, FF2, FF4, and FF6. Bearings are standard on FF7 and FF9.
Performance Surveys
In 1996 Practical Sailor released their most recent Furler Owner Survey. CDI’s Flexible Furler ranked #2, finishing only 1% behind first place.
Owners of our Flexible Furler ranked it higher than Furlex, Harken, Schaeffer, and ProFurl!
Safety Warning
CDI Flexible Furler is meant to furl and reef forward sails such as Jibs and Staysails. It is not intended to be used with a mainsail or mizzens.
The CDI Flexible Furler can NOT be used in water with your mast tipped forward to pass under low obstructions such as bridges. Lowering the mast as described is dangerous with or without a furler and is made significantly more dangerous with the weight of a furler and a sail attached.
