#1241 - FOOT STRAP/CARRYING HANDLE
Instructions
Location of the foot strap/carrying handle is a matter of personal preference. Just in back of the rear
crossbar and in front of the front crossbar is convenient for carrying as well as a position in which extra
security from foot slippage when trapezing.
1. Drill 2 each ¼" or 5/16" holes approximately 5 inches apart in the deck/hull lip. The holes can be
drilled higher on the deck/hull lip if a more vertical orientation is desired.
2. Slip one end of a ¼" line through one end of the holes. Tie a figure 8 knot on that end and pull the
line so as to snug up the knot and force it into the underside of the lip.
3. Slide a plastic tube over the line and insert the line end in the other hole.
4. Grip a keeper pin with a vice-grip and set aside.
5. Grip the unknotted end of the line with a vice grip and pull hard so that ends of the plastic tube are
contacting the deck.
6. Insert keeper pin through center of line as close to the underside of the deck/hull lip as possible. It
will be difficult to push the pin through the line due to tightness of the braid caused by pulling on the
line while inserting the pin but it will go through.
